Earthquakes
Recently in California we have had a lot of earthquakes. It has been very scary for a lot of people who have never experienced an earthquake or have every felt one. In my opinion I feel that everyone old and young should be prepared for a major accident like an earthquake. As people who live in California we need to be well prepared to learn how to survive an earthquake and how to respond to a real one.
In my school and as long as I can remember we have had a lot of practices or earthquake drills. When I was younger I remember that we needed to be prepared and do the following three steps to survive drop cover and hold. These three steps have been very useful to me and my family in case this would ever happen. Also I can recall that even though you do all three steps you need to still be up to date with an emergency backpack that has to have the followings item we need to have water, batteries, flashlights, canned food, matches, blankets, and a lot of hydration packs.
Now that I have grown up and I am more informed about what a big boy needs to do to protect his family and himself in case of a natural disaster/emergency we everyone in your family must be able to know how to react when you experienced an emergency like that. Also you and your family must have an emergency plan available in your house and a safe spot so you all can meet. Now I hope that I can learn more about how it properly act when an earthquake happens in my P.E. Class and learn more important information.
